Hello, Astronaughties, strap in because we’re shaking things up big time in the world of alien combat! Today marks a new chapter where your strategy against those aliens gets more interesting.

From Dungeon Tickets to Alien Maps:

Gone are the days of /shop-ping for dungeon tickets. Now, we’re all about “alien maps.” To join the fight, you’ll grab these maps from our #market using the /shop command. Depending on whether your map is easy, medium, or hard, you’ll face aliens that match. Keep the map in your bag, and you’re all set for an alien /hunt.

Why the Shift?

We’re moving the battlefield from isolated dungeons right to your very own lands. When you /hunt for aliens now, you’ll be doing so on random lands across our planet. This doesn’t change how you fight — it’s the same combat you tried. But there’s a twist for landowners…

Sweet Deal for Landowners:

Battles on your land mean you’re now part of the economy. Every map sold for an alien hunt on your property puts some AP in your pocket, scaled by your land’s rarity. And here’s how it breaks down by astronaut level:

Level 2–10: Earn from easy map sales.

Level 11–20: Earn from easy and medium maps.

Level 20+: Earn from all maps.

Curious about how much you could earn? We’ve got a detailed breakdown ready for you right here:

What’s in It for You?

For landowners, this is your chance to earn more by simply being part of the alien hunt scene. Your lands are now valuable arenas, and with every alien map used on your property, you get a piece of the action.

Combat enthusiasts, your adventure and loot remains the same, with the added spice of knowing you’re helping landowners grow their fortunes with every battle you fight.

Gameplay Change: Aliens Invade Your Lands!

Now, let’s dive into the gameplay changes that are shaking the very ground of Aphelium. It’s all about your lands becoming the new hotspots for alien spawns.

Uninvited Alien Guests

Imagine waking up to find that aliens have decided your land is their new playground! Each land has a 30% chance of spawning alien visitors. Here’s what it means for you:

Free Visitors

These are the wild aliens wandering on your land, and if you don’t engage them in time, they’re going to mess things up. Each alien raid reduces your land’s appeal by 10%. To restore your land’s appeal, you’ll need to craft an appeal treatment and apply it via your /bases with the “treatments” button. Beat them in battle, and not only is your land safe, but you also grab their loot!

Trapped Aliens

Want to avoid the surprise? Stake a “trap” NFT on your land. Craft your trap with the right skills and resources, and set it up for an alien surprise. Remember, one trap per alien, and you’ll need to reset it after each use. Trapped aliens give you more time to respond and ensure your land remains unharmed if not attended. Plus, you get a bonus attack round against them, so more chance to get the loot!

Freezing Aliens

Now, for a chill solution — the Alien Freezer Charm. Equip your astronaut with this charm, and any alien stepping on your land will be frozen in place. This not only protects your land but also gives you an advantage in combat, freezing the alien for an initial turn. However, like all good tech, it requires fuel — freezer potions crafted for each land. Refill them all with the command /use. Dropping on NEFTY at 2 PM UTC, this charm is your all-land protector without the wear and tear.

Loot: Your astronaut’s level influences the difficulty of aliens that can spawn on your land. High-level astronauts can expect more challenging aliens time to time, but with greater rewards. Winning battles against aliens allows you to put them to work, mining resources on your land and earning you plenty of AP.

Victorious battles against these aliens enable you to employ them as workers on your land, mining your resources and accumulating AP for you.

Land Rarity, Resource Percentage and Rewards: The rarity of your land influences the amount of AP you earn from these alien workers. More rare lands yield higher AP earnings, making the land’s value a significant factor in your overall strategy.

The resource percentage on your land directly influences the number of resources produced by working aliens. They mine resources at a rate of twice the land’s resource percentage, meaning the specific type of resource your land is rich in will be mined more efficiently and abundantly by the aliens.

Engaging in battles of varying difficulty levels — easy, medium, and hard — affects your AP reward multipliers. This means that the level of the fight not only impacts the challenge but also the potential resource and AP gains. Every aspect of your engagement, from land rarity to astronaut level and fight difficulty, contributes uniquely to your rewards.

Impact Across the Board

If you’re just starting out or have a lower level, this update adds an exciting layer to your gameplay without overwhelming you. Low-level astronauts will face easier aliens, ensuring that battles are challenging yet manageable.

Those with multiple lands now have an added layer of strategy to consider. Engaging with and defeating aliens not only protects your lands but also starts generating resources and AP, enhancing your lands’ value even before any buildings are introduced.

High-level players, your time and effort shine even more now. Engaging in battles on any land, regardless of its rarity, presents the opportunity to earn substantial rewards. High-level aliens on any land offer better loot than medium-level aliens on legendary lands, balancing the importance of land rarity, quantity, and astronaut levels and skills.
